Originally from Los Angeles, Tashi Fay is an artist based in Brooklyn, New York. Combining painting, collage and sculpture, Tashi constructs scenes meant to plunge the viewer into bizarre and dreamlike narratives.
In 2019 for her most recent exhibition, Tashi staged "thee belly walls" in the entire upstairs of the home at 15 Orient. "thee belly walls" explored the body as a vessel, shelter, and home through a series of tailored environments and inhabitants played by both dolls and human beings. The inhabitants - each representing a past "version" of the artist - played the role of discarded ghosts forced to live together eternally in a pit in her stomach.
Tashi graduated in 2014 with a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). A selection of Tashi's clothing work is available for purchase at Cafe Forgot in New York City and is featured in the pop-up shop Nordstrom x Cafe Forgot.
